Heather & Dylan had a beautiful lakeside wedding in Upstate New York, complete with personal vows 💓, epic dancing 💃🕺, a sparkler exit 🎇, and a boat ride or two ⛵. Does it get any better than that?! Well...okay...they didn't hand out free puppies...but you get my point.

Their ceremony took place at Mohican Point, in front of the "Big House." This beautiful home has been in Dylan's family for over a century and has quite a lot of Lake George & Bolton Landing history surrounding it. One of my favorite moments from the weekend was ascending the inside staircase and seeing it lined with the wedding photographs of what was probably 50 different relatives and family members. After looking closely at the pictures, I realized they were all taken at the same spot, right there at Mohican Point! In that moment things sort of clicked inside my head and it became immediately obvious how this wasn't just any ol' wedding location next to a pretty lake, but one rich in tradition and significance. It was the place for Heather & Dylan to exchange their vows, and with this in mind my goal was to build the lake and house as its own character in their film. To accomplish this I shot more scenic landscapes than usual and went around with a microphone recording the different lake sounds (waves crashing, boats in the distance, etc.). I wanted to take the majesty of such an important place and make it part of their story.

Speaking of films, this is one of my Signature Films. You may have noticed it's longer than the other films here on my website. Most of the work I publish are Highlight Films (~5 min.), but the ~15 min. format of my Signature Film allows me to include a greater breadth of content and linger on certain moments longer (first look, vows, etc.). My wedding film packages include the Highlight Film by default, but I am able to remove it for a credit towards a Signature Film by request.

Every direction you look is beautiful at Lake George. This is the deck I launched my drone from to capture aerials.

I'm on a boat! A 100 year old electric boat, to be exact. Also, do you like my jorts? I'm originally from California so I'm allowed to wear them.

I had a blast partaking in Heather & Dylan's celebration, and I have to admit I've never been so excited to get up before sunrise as I was to grab those drone shots. For those that attended, I hope this film takes you back. For those who couldn't make it, I hope for 15 minutes it feels like you did 🙂.
